About Embodied

Embodied embraces the Gallatin School’s interdisciplinary approach to culture, openly exploring style and art, with the belief that doing so heightens understanding, and does not diminish intellect.

At the time of our launch in 2013, Embodied was a print magazine focused on the complexities of beauty, but has since evolved to consider all different cultural moments through reflection and research. Editors and contributors creatively explore the socio-political with the imagination, and in turn, come to conclusions or perhaps begin conversation about how culture operates at any given moment. Embodied aims to not only explore New York City, but voice the distinct identities that exist within our community.

Our magazine is what is within reach, what is out of reach, what is just around the corner. Our magazine is for you.
